Zintle Apiwe Matshaya is an Associate in the firm’s Litigation and Commercial Departments after being admitted in
February 2025. Zintle focuses on Corporate and Commercial Litigation, Family Law, Labour Law, Civil Litigation, and Bank Foreclosures.
A skilled orator, Zintle honed her speaking abilities as a member of the debating team in both high school and at Rhodes University. This passion for effective communication reflects her deep love for litigation. She is known for her commitment to excellence, a client-focused approach, and meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that her clients receive clear and pragmatic legal advice. Zintle also brings valuable experience in corporate governance, risk management, and compliance, having previously worked in the public sector in roles that required high-level policy implementation, institutional performance monitoring, and strategic planning.
After obtaining a Bachelor of Social Science degree from Rhodes University, Zintle pursued her LLB at the University of South Africa and further advanced her qualifications with a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management with a specialisation in Monitoring and Evaluation and later completed a Master’s in Management – Governance (Economics and Development) both at the University of Witwatersrand. This combination of legal and governance expertise allows her to offer well-rounded legal solutions, particularly in commercial and corporate matters where regulatory compliance and risk assessment are key.
Outside of her work at the firm, Zintle is an active member of the Black Management Forum (BMF), a non-racial organisation committed to the advancement of black managers and leadership. As part of the Provincial Executive, she participates in various professional development programs and mentorship initiatives, continuously enhancing her skills and leadership capabilities to excel in her career.
