Drake, Flemmer & Orsmond consists of seven directors, a number of associates and candidate legal practitioners, and about 42 additional staff members including legal secretaries, administrative staff and support staff, who all contribute to the functioning of the firm’s large conveyancing and litigation departments, as well as various other legal services.

As an added service, a member of our staff travels to King William’s Town daily to attend to the lodging and registration of documents in the Deeds Office.

DFO was founded in 1888 by Henry George Drake and Marius Toger Flemmer, both Boer War veterans. These “founding fathers” were succeeded by descendants who became partners at the firm. In 1910, DFO was appointed chief agents to the Royal Insurance Company (later known as Mutual & Federal).
